In an effort to bring in more outreach to Mizzou Esports during the Fall semester, Yi Zheng, Community Lead for Mizzou Esports, organized a “Halloween Night” at the MSI Training Facility.

“It’s truly the spirit that makes it fun. We had so many Halloween-themed activities that made people want to come,” Zheng said.

Over 50 people attended to play videogames on the facility’s “high-powered” computers, play board games amongst themselves, eat food, and compete in a costume contest.

Zheng enjoyed being able to host the costume contest and give away free items like mice and keyboards, provided by MSI. He hopes to rehost the event in the future.

“I’m very passionate about esports, and I think events like these are a great way for people to make friends,” Zheng said. “It’s really good for esports and on a big college campus.”

For Jordan Strubelt, freshman, he enjoyed the party as a way to socialize with others and play videogames.

“I think it’s a good way for people who don’t necessarily want to attend more traditional halloween events to get out and enjoy the holiday,” Strubelt said.
